Digital Divide Grant Funding

Digital Divide EU Grant Funding

EU logo

This school received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used to fund:

  • Chromebooks that were specifically assigned to the Special/Additional Educational Needs Department for students with various needs. Students benefit from the availability of these Chromebooks specifically for learning support classes.
  • Class sets of Chromebooks with trolleys to provide students with the opportunity to complete project work in school.
  • iPads and tripods specifically for Leaving Certificate PE allowing students to complete all project work worth 50% in school.

We are grateful to the government and NextGenerationEU for this funding which has allowed us to reduce somewhat the digital divide for our students.
