School Book Grant Allocation for Students in Need of Assistance
Each year the Department of Education allocates a grant to this school to enable us to give assistance towards the purchase of school textbooks for students in need. The level of assistance available depends on the number of students eligible for support, the course being followed by the student and the level of the grant which the school receives. The book grant is not available for students in Transition Year 2023-2024.
As the majority of books are purchased in 1st and 5th Year, the grant will be administered for these years in the main. This year we will issue Book Vouchers which can be used in Allbooks Bookstore in Portlaoise or Jones Business Systems in Carlow.
Where a new book is added to the booklist for 2nd, 3rd or 6th year an application may be made for this book(s). Book lists are available on the school website under Parent Zone or click
here to view.
